Hey everyone,
I’ve been taking piano lessons for about 10 months now. Since I am a beginner, my teacher has me learning classical music through lesson books. She also has me work on technique by doing scales. I like learning piano through this method and will continue to do so!
However, I have been trying to learn some different styles (blues) on the side through YouTube lessons to keep it interesting.
I’ve noticed when I listen to music I like, there are organ sounds that I really enjoy! I have a Yamaha P35 digital piano and my 2 organ tones both sound like church organs and not the funky organ style that I like. Here are 2 examples of the sound I’m talking about:

What is this organ style called? Funk/jazz organ? And, should I get a higher-end keyboard or maybe a synthesizer to get this sound?
-
Should I keep focusing on blues to learn this play style? I know a lot of it has to do with rhythm but is it based off of blues scales?
Thank you for any input!
