Due to the complexity of most modern synths nowadays, I can sometimes lose focus on the composition of the track and instead tinker with sound design too much. Because of this, my mind gets overwhelmed, and I lose interest in my tracks. I'm a firm believer of the idea that 'having limits makes you more creative', which also applies to samples, IMO.
This is why I'm looking for a simpler, retro-style synth, which preferably has some nice presets (I like having a fast workflow, and presets help with that). Even sampler-based ones will probably do: A free emulation of the Korg M1 would be so nice!
If you guys have any ideas, I will appreciate any suggestions. Thank you very much! =)
