I understand using noise-cancelling headphones for mixing is generally a no-no. But both of my studio headphones (Sennheiser HD280 and Beyerdynamic DT770) are useless on planes. The engine noise is just too loud, it drowns out all lows and mids.
I'm going to be flying a handful of times in the next few months and want to use that time to work on sound design. Anyone use noise cancelling headphones on planes? Is it worth the investment and would they be good for this purpose?
