I have been producing for a borderline 2 years now, and I have travelled through many numerous genres, until I realized I have been involuntarily making numerous things in other songs that should be in drum and bass (Ex. I'll always add a Reese bass that is filtered and the cutoff being modulated through an automation for breakdowns) so I've decided to try to make drum and bass. Do y'all have any tips in terms of where sounds would be placed on a frequency spectrum and in the stereo image, and how loud everything is individually (like are the drums louder than the bass)? I know I can analyze songs, in which I'm going to do soon, but I was wondering if y'all had any advice or "things I wish I didn't do as a beginner" type of things.
Also, for reference, I would like to stay towards the "heavy" style, such as Droptek in early Monstercat or Muzzy "Spectrum" and "Worth the Lie"
Lastly, sorry if there is bad grammar. I'm typing on a phone late at night :)
