I'm working on audio and think.. oh I'll just quickly check the email. Notice one from this company that handles the voting for some major award shows in the States. This is the same system that record labels use to submit to solicited commercial entertainment media outlets.
I glance at the email, it said:

Below that, somebody from there took time out of their busy workday, to run Photoshop and cut out this pic of Beyonce. lol.

I close that window and think.. her music is kinda irritating. If people like Beyonce are winning a bunch of them, that means your award stinks.
This music maker crusade you're on... The end result may not be about winning half a dozen Grammy's in one night. Because look at those who did. Sometimes their music wasn't all that groundbreaking or "great". They'll likely be forgotten in the future. They didn't cause any paradigm shifts in the industry. Often, they made music like it was done in the past. They're like the rest of the sheep. Most of the time, this little pop star who's up there getting the awards, didn't even write the music or lyrics. It's all fucking bullshit their little award shows.
I can name you a lot of these bands who won tons of Grammys, where their music kinda sucks. And I can also name you a lot of actually great bands who didn't fucking win any. But had a shitload of sales.
So, the Grammy's as your goal, kinda stinks. And that's not what this is about. What I'd like to see one of you do, if you win... Don't say a word, grab it, throw on the ground like they do in football after a touchdown. Then turn around and pull your pants down like Bart Simpson and moon the crowd.

But you couldn't do that if you were signed by a record label. You'd get sued and probably wouldn't even be nominated. So that whole system and their little awards, stinks. They choose who sins them even if the music isn't all that great. And you know it.
How about what's going on in Hollywood with the movie industry lately and how they're all perverts. You know that goes on in the music biz too. Since CD's stopped selling, none of them make money to pay their bills. The party's over. The system sucks where they tour like slaves until they're 30 and retire.
Fuck all those guys and the broken entertainment system. You don't need to be signed by a record label to get there any more.
They can also take their bullshit awards which are meaningless and shove it up their asses.
What's important here is about making great music that'll be written about in the future's history books. To get Grammy's, you'd have to be blah like them. Which would mean to conform and not be a pioneer. This is why the state of music stinks and doesn't progress from the past. Anything interesting these days, doesn't fit into the mainstream genres. So they won't get any of their bullshit awards and those artists would think they suck.
In fact, you want to make music that won't win Grammy's. Then you'll probably be more likely to be remembered in the future. If winning Grammy's is your goal, you're just gonna lose like the rest of them. The industry's corrupt. So fuck them all. Just keep working on your shit and if it's great, it'll get out there. You don't need them and their bullshit awards.
