If you reached the level where your mixes sound pro, how much do you think others hear/care about those last 10% percent where you "perfect" the mix?
I mean I work pretty fast, make a track in one day, two days if I need to cut vocals, and the mix can be pretty much 90% there and people would probably think its good. But I sit for weeks afterwards & perfect the mix. Doing minimal eq changes and raising/lowering some channels 0,1 db. Some stuff I do is so subtle, but for my ears they make a change. Everytime I listen to it fresh I hear a small change that could enhance it a little.
I've read on this forum some people are fearing that their mixes isnt good enough and when I listen to them they surprisingly sound professional. Maybe Im not the only one thats anxious about those last 10 % ?
