Hi fellow producers. I am making music as a hobby while studying audio engineering. I got into production several years ago and i am decent with sound design and production overall, using Ableton and push, all good while I’m itb. But i always wanted to make sounds similar to Chemical Brothers and Jon Hopkins, Gesaffelstein also, i really dig hardware sound, btw I’m making kind of techno, dance thing. So i bought Arturia Microbrute and Korg MS20 mini to try to make something out of them. And while i can do some really nice sounds, tracking and coming up with ideas is lot harder. I only managed to finish couple of tracks which i like in last 6 months, which is not my usual rate. While i was working itb entirely it was so easy, being able to copy and change the sounds and notes at any time, while coming up with ideas, but i hated sound of plugins, even serum sounds like ass for my ears. And with hardware i am recording long ass takes and then working with audio trying to make something out of it. It is fun but also it is harder for me to be consistent, and i am thinking about just to work itb like before. How do you track your synths? Are you writing in software first and then recording hardware? Any advice?
