Hey guys, I'm pretty new to EDM production but its clear that I needed a sound card. 5 seconds of research showed that most audio/mixer/sound/DJ/whatever controllers come with a decent sound card installed, and since I was thinking of eventually buying one eventually, it seems like the move.
I could really use your help though because I don't really know what I'm doing or even what to look for? So some questions:
- What features should I look for?
- How much should I be willing to spend on an entry-level purchase, to avoid buying crap
- Are there any models that have both mixer (knobs?), the touch pad/electronic drum kits you can use to make beats, would this be a good inclusion, and are these type of beat kits pads functional/useful at all?
- Are there any difficulties using specific or non-specific audio controllers with specific or non-specific DAWs? (I'm only using garageband for now but would hope to upgrade one day)
- What brands or specific models would you steer me towards (or away from)?
