So to me there are at least two ways to listen to music, one where you don't judge the sounds, don't think about them and just feel them. And one analytical way of listening where you hear all the individual sounds, which I think especially musicians develop or people that are strongly involved with music.
I can switch between these 'modes' quite easily when listening to something someone else has made but I cannot 'trigger' it the same way when listening to my own tracks.
It's really difficult to talk about this stuff as it's so subjective.
Can anyone relate? Are there any texts on this subject?
