I've always messed around making music and would send my stems out to another person to "mix and master" them for a clearer sound. Typically, I sent out my stems at -12db or -6db... it would vary.
I want to start doing this myself and I am stuck. I sucks to spend $50 - $200 every time I want to polish up and send out new music.
I'm using Logic Pro X and want to start learning how to utilize the buses, and how to properly send out which audio to which bus. I feel like once I figure out how to bus my kick and snare to a single track and maybe throw a compressor on it to sidechain, it'll really help my day-to-day production and budget.
Also, should I be using limiters on my channels while mixing+mastering, or just the main channel?
Can anyone who's familiar with this help? Hope this all made sense to someone.
