I've had an interest for a couple years now to start learning the double bass. I know the type and style and everything to get started, but music stores seem to ONLY RENT TO CHILDREN. I sort of understand why this policy exists but it is so asinine to me that there's not even an adult option. I don't want to go out and buy a whole one (you can get them on ebay for 700 but I don't even know if I'd permanently like it) when I can rent one for fifty bucks a month.
Does anyone know of any music stores that will sell to any adults wanting to play? I'm in the Cincinnati area if that helps, though franchises are also awesome. Is there anything I can say to a store owner? Can I contact a teacher and get approval from them?
