I've noticed that when I have dubstep growls in a track I seem to have 2 options: 1. leave the growls dry and have a lot of space between each sound that makes the mix sound empty. 2. Put reverb or another tail effect on the sound and muddy the original signal. I was wondering if anyone else had noticed this, and what you do about the issue. The 3 things ive thought of are sidechaining reverb, using longer release times with mono retriggering, or putting quieter "grace" synths in the empty space, but not all of these seem to work in every case. Thoughts/solutions?
