I have a pair of Yamaha HS8, which worked very well in the large basement I had them in. Air was pushing out of the bass blowhole, whatever you call it, and the woofers vibrated.
I moved into a new production room, approx. 9' x 10', and my monitors are approx. 5"-6" away from the wall. There is barely any low end, the woofer does not vibrate, and air does not push out of the back woofer blowhole. I tried moving the monitors to the center of the room and then the woofer starts working properly again. If I move it back to the basement, they sound amazing again. What do I do to remedy this? Put acoustic pads behind the monitors on the wall?
