I'm recording guitar direct line-in with a Roland Tri-Capture audio interface. I have a clean channel that I am recording on and sending the audio to another channel that has all my guitar effects which is then again routed to the master. I'm trying to achieve phasing by recording two tracks that are panned either hard right or left but when I send the audio to the effects channel, it overrides the pan and makes it stereo again.
If I select the recorded audio and set the Target mixer track to an unused channel, it will be just clean guitar but successfully panned. If I set the target mixer track to the channel with all my effects, it goes stereo, regardless of what effect I use (even FL Reverb).
I think I might have mixed something up in routing but I can't figure out why the audio will only pan when it has no effects. It will even successfully pan when I route it to the effects channel but toggle all the effects off so it really seems to be FX related.
