I've been producing for almost a year now, and have made really good improvements,with melody creation, and especially chords and drum patterns. But the one thing that still eludes me is my drops almost never sound like they fit it.
I can make a really nice melody that fits with my track and then use it again in the drop with some more layered synths and maybe some toms backing it, and not only does the transition to it sound bad(I'm not great with fills either) the whole drop sounds so out of place.
Even when I make new melodies in the scale i'm working in they just don't sound good and I don't know why. Its so frustrating and was wondering if anyone has experienced this and how they break away from it?
TL;DR My Drops never mix well with the rest of my song/melodies, even tho they can be the same melody but with more layers, even different melodies don't sound good.
