Hello everybody!
It's been awhile since i've became Koze's big fan, and I'm still curious about his production.
I've seen a few photos from his studio and I was listening(and relistening) his music which lead me to some thougts about his style and techniques.
His hats and claps are always groovy af. He's using a lot instruments in his production(like harp, Jew's harp, congas etc.)
Also in his earlier works he used this cool thing with sample loop triggering(this is my guess) like in this track(starting on 3:27) https://youtu.be/91wf0yoEjb0?t=213
Other big thing I'm trying to achieve is this vocoder thing which was very often used in International Pony project https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9L9K1kjbCE (starts in the beginning)
He really love to use some samples and his approach to them is genius.
Generally his music in all aspects are detuned, glitchy, silly(in a good funny way).
Every time I listen his works I simply can't stop smiling because this is just wonderfull.
I admire him.
I don't want to be a second Kozella but I definitely want to grow as a producer and he's a good(if not the best) example of production and ESPECIALLY SOUND DESIGN. So, any advices will be appreciated. Please, let's discuss.
