Dear r/learnmusic!
We've created a new subreddit r/piano_late_starters dedicated to pianists who are thinking if starting, or have started as an adult. There are many lovely subreddits for piano, but sometimes it feels alien since they're populated by kids and teenagers (who are sometimes super talented), or experienced adults who forgot what it was like to learn (because they started over a decade ago as a young kid). r/piano_late_starters is meant to be a complement to the other piano subreddits, and as such, it has stricter rules to keep the community's signal high and noise low.
If you started or want to start as an adult, no matter your skill, please join! You'll be in good company. I hope to see you there, hear your lesson experience reports, and listen to your performances.
(I apologize if this is coming across as spam. There was a subreddit that recently started for adult pianists which gained a lot of popularity and enthusiasm, then inexplicably disappeared... leaving a lot of learners hanging.)
Thanks!
