I have a set of drumsticks with Vic Firth Universal Practice Tips. The tips are made of rubber.
So I can practice drumming on many surfaces without making too much noise.
For the last month, I have practiced rhythm every day for less than 15 minutes a day. I start my metronome and then cycle through playing quarter, eighth, triplets, and sixteenth notes for about 100 seconds each. I go through that cycle twice.
Some days are better than others, but I do feel like my rhythm is much steadier than before.
At some point, am I supposed to feel some kind of rhythm pulse inside my body.?
What does an inner pulse feel like?
Also, when I hit the note exactly in time with the metronome click, what does it sound like?
I can hear when I'm off because the sound of the metronome and my hit are completely separate.
I do get many times when it only sounds like a very sharp fast click. But I'm wondering if the metronome click noise is supposed to completely disappear when I am on time with my rhythm.
Thank you.
