I'm somebody who never did anything musical through any of their schooling, at 23 I started learning to play guitar. It's been a bit over a year now and I am loving playing guitar and kicking myself for not doing music sooner.
I am very happy with my progression at actually playing songs and having fun with the instrument, but I still have literally no idea what people are talking about when it comes to music theory.
To be honest, I don't even know if I'm using music theory correctly here, I'm just hoping I am. A lot of my friends were in band in school and now that I'm playing they are trying to help me learn concepts, but I feel like I cannot understand what they are saying. I don't usually struggle to pick things up like this so it is very frustrating.
Where is a good place to start with this? I'd want to start at the absolute beginning , as I have no understanding at all. Is there a good youtube series or something on this?
Thanks for the help.
