Hey all,
Big fan of Depeche Mode, specifically for their cool synth sounds in a lot of their songs. However I also like their piano tracks too. I've seen covers on youtube, being played by what looks like an "electric piano/keyboard" but I honestly don't know what the difference is nowadays - I'm not sure what the correct names are for these instruments.
I have absolutely no background in music at all, but I want to start playing keyboard/piano/synth to mimic songs like these, along with the more modern synthwave genre. Can anyone recommend where I start?
For instance, would picking up a MIDI controller help me with this?
