I started with weekly orchestral sketches on my Youtube channel. Just to point out: this is not about composing the greatest melody lines ever or writing my Magnus Opus. No, this is about learning, practising, "DOING" without any judgement.
Hope you like it and that it inspires you if you're an aspiring (film) composer just like me. And any tips, advise on melody development and orchestration are welcome :)
The playlist with all the sketches in it: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLTv6R51wpEYjlkeiVjany-9RbFUHpqJ8H
Topics that are addressed in the sketches so far:
- counterpoint writing
- intervals (3rds, 6ths and 10ths - also called imperfect consonances)
- SATB writing
- harmony
- melody development
- orchestration
- and much more
