Subject is pretty much the question. I'd be a near complete beginner.
I played the alto sax for 7 years in grade school, but haven't really played since (19 years). I bought a student flute and have been messing around with it, but could really use instruction. I know for the most part how to read music for example, but things like playing octaves on the flute elude me. I've watched numerous videos, and I have not yet been able to do it consistently. Over blowing works, but takes so much air it's not sustainable (let alone being able to hit the next two octaves!).
Anyways, in today's climate virtual lessons are about all you can get. But they're charging the exact same price as they did for in person lessons. Is it worth that? Better to wait a year for this whole thing to blow over?
I'd appreciate any thoughts from people who have actually done it (either from student or teacher perspective).
Thanks!
