I’ve been learning the basics of music theory recently and I haven’t been able to find and answer to this question anywhere else.
According to the circle of fifths, The A major scale has 3 sharps. The order of sharps is supposed to be FCGDAEB, but the A major scale is played as follows:
A B C# D E F# G# A
This does not follow the order of sharps because C# comes before F# as you play the scale. I thought all sharps and flats were supposed to be played in the proper order. Any explanation would be greatly appreciated.
