I think part of the reason I've struggled with automation in my tracks is that I don't want to do something that turns the listener away. I've had that mindset for a long time and I'm probably just getting in my own way. I was stoned a couple nights ago and decided "eff that" and was content with the weird results I was getting. So my question is, is it important to make sure your listener can comprehend what's happening? Or is it better to change stuff up in a way that throws them off? Thanks for any answers!
