Will the new AMD CPUs (RYZEN) will have any impact on music production?
It uses 8 cores with 16 threads at a very affordable price. But as I understand it, more cores does not necessarily mean it will be better for music production.
If this is the case then why isn't there a bigger push for DAW developers to make software utilize the cores more effectively? I understand that audio should be processed sequentially, but surely libraries/instruments within the DAW can make use of multi-threading more effectively?
