I have a mid-2012 Macbook Pro, a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Audio Interface, a pair of Rokits and an AKAI MPK49. I recently purchased a wireless keyboard and mouse which requires another USB port, which I was out of. So I did my homework but apparently not enough. I even asked the guys at BestBuy (maybe not the best choice? haha) and they confirmed my research. I purchased a powered 3.0 USB hub and hooked everything up. I made sure to plug my interface straight into my laptop and my MIDI keyboard and wireless keyboard to the USB hub which was then plugged in to the second port on my MacBook. After that I had MAD latency and terrible static noise when running any type of sound through. I tried routing it all in every way possible and I got the same result. One time my laptop itself had some static coming out of its speakers. Do I have an old Macbook? Do I just need to buy another USB hub? What am I missing?
