My primary instrument is bass. I want drums to be my second. It was a good plan until I started playing with others -- I'm frequently the strongest singer. I think I should address my vocal weaknesses if I'm going to sing more often.
Concerns about trying to do all three at once:
- the singing teacher wants me to learn basic piano as a part of lessons/practice
- costs of private lessons
I'm considering the following:
- Learn all three indefinitely, adjusting schedule keeping bass prioritized
- Bass and voice with an instructor, Drumeo/self-teaching drums
- Set a time limit on singing lessons to learn the basics and establish a healthy practice routine
- Retreating to a corner to inspect how much shadow the amps can cast over me so no one remembers I'm there to suggest that I sing anything
I don't really have anyone to ask about it, so please share your thoughts.
