I can sight read basic songs in the key of c on piano, and on guitar I can play quite a few songs from a mixture of tabs, YouTube and sheet music that has tabs. Neither all that well. But I’d really like to be able to play some performances. How should I advance? Should I focus on one? I’m kind of leaning towards taking piano lessons so I can get into advanced music theory and I can keep teaching myself guitar on the side. What do y’all think?
For context, I’m 30 years old and played both off and on since I was quite young. I took 4 years of piano lessons, but mostly at the earliest end of my memory. I’m looking to start taking it more seriously and making it more of a big part of my life
