So I’m planning to join my school’s orchestra since they offer to rent instruments for free and teach from scratch. I’m choosing between violin and cello since these two are what they offered. I like both cello and violin’s sound, and cello seems cooler to me (because it’s bigger), but i also heard that violin gets the more interesting part in orchestra (and as a soprano in choir, I’m so used to getting the melody). The only instruments I play now are guitar and piano, idk if they will help learning cello or violin faster. Can anyone give me more opinions on the two orchestra instruments ?
