I'm very sorry for everyone who has to see this post so many times. I really wanted to make this post so I can include my finger length and span.
Backstory: I used to be a violinist until grade 6 but I quit after awhile and then I wanted to start piano after high school (as to cope with stress and studying I listened to a lot of piano), but I was heavily disheartened that my hand span is about 19.7 cm (thumb: 5cm second finger: 6.2 cm middle finger: 7.5 cm fourth finger: 6.8 cm pinky: 6cm) and I have to stretch and barely play a 9th (on the very brim of the keys).
I guess for about 9 months (from graduation last year pretty much) I've been practising my dad's dreadnought guitar and it is a beautiful instrument to hear, but it is exceptionally uncomfortable to my fingers and I don't think reducing the size or getting a thinner neck guitar would make it easier for me. As I now have a part time job, I can afford to purchase an instrument of my own, but I know that if I buy an instrument that will make me frustrated because of my hand size I will easily quit it and won't be worth the investment.
I've been considering a soprano ocarina, tin whistle, lap harp (or harp?), but I am really open to suggestions from you guys. I am very welcoming to all instruments and I really hope to hear that an instrument exists where having small hands is a major advantage.
