Hi all,
I hadn't seen this mentioned anywhere before, so for those DIY hardware enthusiasts here is a link to, what I consider to be, an awesome opensource MIDI platform:
https://shanteacontrols.wordpress.com/2017/01/30/opendeck-platform-v1-0/
The creator has almost made it plug-and-play when it comes to connecting components. Want some faders? No worries, just hook up the pins to the right inputs. Want a rotary encoder? Grab one from your local parts shop and hook it up.
The code is opensource too: https://github.com/paradajz/OpenDeck
At the moment the creator is gauging interest from the community, so if you want to sign on for a pre-order board, get in touch with him!
Happy making!
