Hey guys, this is something I've wondered for a while. Sometimes I have preset packs that have classes of presets called "Chord" and "Arp", which plays a full chord, or an arpeggiation, by pressing only one key. I have always assumed that these just play a major or minor triad, but if that's the case, how do people use them and stay diatonic? Or how do people make them sound good when they're not. If you just have to know the chord and its function anyway, what's the advantage of making a preset that does it in one key when you can be more explicit in the MIDI?
Note: I'm not trying to rip on these. I want to know if there's something I'm missing that I can roll into my sound design, or if I'm missing out on something by using these incorrectly.
