congruence (definition) agreement or harmony; compatibility
I just began composing on Sunday Sept 18th and I've created 1 finished piece and another piece I'm currently working on, which is here: https://i.imgur.com/mJsvYUx.png
My reason for making this thread today is because of this 55-second scene from World War Z (starring Brad Pitt):
- If 9 people look at the same information and arrive at the exact same conclusion, it is the duty of the 10th man to disagree -- no matter how improbable it may seem. The 10th man must start thinking with the idea that <the other 9 men> (i.e. conventional wisdom) are wrong
- (The Top Comment from the Scene) One of the best scenes I've ever watched.... The idea itself not the scene, thx 4 uploading dude.. Thumbs up
I want to hear (from beginners mostly, but anyone is free to answer) why it is that musical experts have "superior knowledge" with respect to musical beginners? Please remember that my question is only half-serious and I'm only asking for the reasons given in the scene of World War Z.
My belief system compels me to thoughtfully analyze meaningful responses -- but I may refrain from replying in the comments section because I don't want to argue (unless you are willing to agree that I'm only arguing my position from a "devil's advocate' standpoint) -- which is why I may edit my OP and copy/paste some of the most compelling opinions from down below in the comments.
Thank you for reading and please don't get offended if you are a musical expert -- this question is only a result of my musical curiosity. 🎶
Lastly, I want to give an "acknowledgement" to Pareto's Principle because it is the reason my belief system cannot congrue with the idea that musical experts have superior knowledge than musical beginners.
