I'm looking to pick up one of the instruments I have at home so that I can just play along to some music for fun. Not looking to perform or join a band or anything. Also think it could be neat to learn a little music theory. But I don't really know how to pick one to try and practice consistently enough to get to the point that I can do the fun playing along with songs part.
my main options are drums as i have this basic electric drum pad set, keyboard, or bass guitar.
main perk for drums is that I have this hyperactive tap along to beats remembered or currently listened to and when I was younger it was a good outlet for that and enjoyed it in middle school band (even if i was kind of bad) but I ended up stopping playing in highschool for no real reason. But I wouldn't get to do anything with notes or music theory which I have some interest in learning about.
Bass I like because i can use it with rock smith, but a bunch of the music I listen to has boring bass parts and I really struggle with the motor skills for string instruments and found it very frustrating in the past.
And idk much about piano just that we have an electric one and it's very versatile and can play pretty much anything. And is really good if you want to learn how music works.
Any advice on how to choose? I'm guessing trying to learn both drums and piano is a bit much for casual interest in it.
