I just got a violin for my 17th birthday and I'm planning on teaching myself, I've played piano for years so I know all the music theory and stuff, I just need to learn technique and intonation etc so I was wondering if anyone had tips for learning or could share what they found hardest, common mistakes, how they overcame things. I've bought a book that comes with video tutorials and I've watched a lot of youtube clips but I just wanted to gather as much as I can :)
Please be honest if learning it by myself is an impossible task, I want to avoid having to ask my parents for lessons on top of extra things I do, but they'd probably do it if it would really help.
Either way thanks in advance :)
