I've just started learning to play the piano recently. However, I have a basic Casio CTK-720 keyboard. If I get something closer to an actual piano (I have a small apartment, so I can only fit a digital one on a stand), something that replicates weighted keys, touch sensitive velocity, features similar to a sustain pedal, etc, will that help me play properly? Will piano techniques work better on a realistic digital piano, as opposed to a basic keyboard? The keys on my Casio are very "springy" and don't have any weight to them. Half the length of the keys have nothing underneath them. Are a keyboard and digital piano technically the same thing? I want to make sure buying a digital piano will make a difference before I invest the money into it.
