Hey guys!
I hope you're all doing well today! I'll be attaching the video of the lesson here for you to check out. The concept behind this way of learning the scales is breaking down a scale into a number of shapes depending on how many notes are in the scale and then using those shapes to navigate all over the fretboard. An example would be the A minor pentatonic scale. It has 5 notes so there are 5 box shapes associated with it. The shapes would be numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and the repeat back to 1. Starting on the low 2 strings (6E & 5A), Shape 1 leads into shape 2 by going UP fretboard and staying on the same strings. Shape 1 could also go DOWN to shape 5 by moving down on the fretboard or move to the adjacent strings (4D & 3G) at the same fret to also get shape 5. This concept can be used to breakdown scales into shapes to help see what shapes lead to others. I hope this information is clear along with the video!
TL;DR - Video Lesson here on how to learn scales fast through breaking them down into shapes that lead into each other.
