Hey fellow musicians!
I'm self-taught on guitar/bass and a bit of piano/synths. And to be honest i'm running in circles/stuck in the major heptatonic and pentatonic scales. I have the basic music theory, but don't know how to use it effectively to write songs or arrangements and improvise.
So what books/methods/videos did you use to improve on melody/harmony ? I'm all for jazz/experimental but other genres are more than welcome too. I'm searching for a better understanding of melody/harmony, and shining a new light on this topic.
For now I mainly used "La Partition Intérieure" (might be the best book written in french btw) and I've seen recommended "A chromatic approach to Jazz" by Dave Liebman.
First time posting, I hope I did alright ;). If something is still unclear, please tell me. Thank you for reading !
