I've invested in a simple set up: an Akai MPK49 and Ableton. I want to start learning how to properly play my instruments (keyboards and pads I guess) as well as helpful music theory and eventually mastering the Ableton interface. I have also bought these two courses on Udemy:
I was planning on starting with the theory course then moving on to the Ableton one, but I noticed two problems:
- first, these courses won't teach me proper positioning/techniques in playing my instruments
- two, these courses have "basic music skills" as a prerequisite.
So my question is, keeping in mind I'm a complete beginner who has access to the detailed setup and the listed couple courses, how can I get started, at least to a point where I can continue on with the courses normally without being disadvantaged with my lack of "basic music skills"? Is there anything else (preferably free or at least affordable) I could/should be doing instead or in conjunction?
Thanks in advance!
