Hey there, /r/learnmusic! I've spent the last several months co-developing Scherzando!, a tabletop roleplaying game that uses music as a part of the mechanics, and no musical experience is required to play. In our playtests so far, we've had people from a wide range of musical backgrounds, and we've found that regardless of formal training, people learn to communicate effectively through music while playing the game. It's silly and fun and we'd love to introduce it to a wider audience! Our goal is for people to become more comfortable with improvisation by telling musical stories with their friends.
If you'd like to check out the game, we're offering a free download of the beta rulebook right now on our website. All we ask is that, upon having played a session, you fill out our feedback form.
Let me know if you have any questions or comments!
