I'm very new to EDM production, and while I've been playing around with creating my own songs, I also wanna try remixing some songs I like that don't sound overly complex to me. I'm wondering how people get into this process, do you take the original track and just cut some parts and put your own material in? Do you layer additional sounds onto the intact track? I've been using GarageBand iOS, which I know probably isn't very good for this but with the added alchemy feature I much prefer it to the older version I have on my desktop computer. Should I be using the desktop version for this sort of thing to get more in-depth control of the sound, or am I okay on iOS?
