It's a heated topic in his comments section and everyone has been pretty salty over it. I'm not trying to hate on him, I just want to come closer to an answer.
Here's the video.
Now, in my opinion, he didn't use all the tracks and he made his project a mess for the clickbait thumbnail. I downloaded the FLP and I was able to turn off 20+ tracks with it sounding basically the same. Some people defend Volterix by saying "you don't have to delete unused things, especially automation clips." That's true, but unlikely.
After downloading his project files, you will even come to realise he used samples and loops for a LARGE portion of the track... Which further adds suspicion for me.
What really puts a hole in his defences is also the fact that a project made with only 3xOSC is astronomically cleaner than his which is mostly samples/loops.
I've made a short track similar to Volterix's just to make sure it's possible to do it with much less layers and I personally think I succeeded. I won't put the link in this post, but if you ask for it I'll give it to you. I don't want this post to look like self-promotion because I'm just trying to brew up discussion.
This is not a hate post... Even if we somehow prove it definitely was for clickbait, I don't want this to turn into a roasting post. By putting out better insight on stuff like this we indirectly help beginners. A beginner could be misled by Volterix's project and think he has to use that many layers, but then comes here and realises you don't have to. Even if Volterix is 100% legit, at least the beginner is informed that a project like that isn't necessary.
