Was wondering if anyone had advice or past success with the particular situation I'm in. Here are the relevant details of my situation (feel free to ask for more details):
- I have weakness, inflexibility, and a lack of coordination in my hands. To give you a sense of the relative ability, I'm typing this on a mechanical keyboard without much of a problem, but I can't really write at all. I'm usually strong enough in my right hand to open a soda bottle but not my left. When it comes to learning new hand-related things, sometimes I can get better with practice and sometimes not. I am also likely to get tired holding something up for a long period, but general strength tasks are usually easier/more trainable than any fine motor skills stuff.
- Non-disability-related advantages and disadvantages: I live an apartment, so nothing too loud or big. I'm a software engineer and can pick up anything computer-related with relative ease, but generally I'm looking for something more tactile than electronic music (I want to spend less time on a screen, not more).
- Guitar and piano would be my first choices from a musical perspective, so I'd be particularly interested in accommodations there, but I'm open to other things too.
Thanks!
