27m here. I own a piano, electric guitar, and electric bass. I thought I'd learn all three instruments PLUS learn to sing but all I'm really interested in is the electric guitar. I admire artists like FKJ, Prince, or Stevie Wonder who can play multiple instruments. I wanted to be like them. But I lack the desire to learn all instruments. I just lose interest and focus as soon as I get off the guitar to play the bass or sing. I can't even do just 30 minutes. I used to play the piano very well but now I'm just interested in the electric guitar. I also like artists like Jimi Hendrix and Frank Zappa. Zappa made me want to pick up an electric guitar and Jimi showed me how creative I could get.
I bought Logic Pro X but it seems I need to learn the keyboard to make use of the various vst plugins. I want to make R&B, Soul, Alternative, and maybe some Funk for now. My mother and father wished I would learn all my instruments in my studio. But I changed over time.
I wanted to be a singer-songwriter, musician, and producer but all I have the energy for is just the guitar. Should I force myself to learn another instrument or sing so I can be well-rounded, or should I follow my current interest? I feel incomplete as an artist. I'm not living up to my multi-talented idols.
BTW, I'm not sure if I want a career in the industry or just get a few views on Youtube with my talent. I just know I love music. What should I do? Will the other instruments come to me naturally over time?
