Hello !
I was born in a family of violinists. But the little j*rk that I was wanted to be different, and I never wanted to lay a hand on an instrument.
I begin regretting it when I turned 18, and made a deal with myself: if I get to my dream school when I'm 20, I'll treat myself with a piano !
Guess what, I got the school and the piano. But it was 5 years ago, and I'm a terrible player.
I didn't knew about solfege at first, so I tried to learn the piano with symphonia (or whatever the app name is), but after a wested year, I decided to learn reading tabs.
I now know basic solfege, and can read almost every tab, more or less fluently. But I'm still really bad at reading a note and playing it instantly. I'm still learning the tab by heart, and if I miss a key, I have a hard time focusing back, and I often have to replay whole sections of the songs.
Now, I want to be a real piano player. And I'm willing to take the time it need to. But how should I start? I won't be able to take classes untill February, but still want to practice I've heard about the Alfred's books, but since I already know a few basics, is it still a good start? Or do I have to unlearn everything? Are there any tips or anything/experience you want to share?
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, and thanks for the help!
Happy holidays!
