I've always started with the percussion piece and then added pads, baseline, leads, FX. I always started out with a 8 bar loop. At the peak of the song, I would then disseminate and arrange. However, now I feel like I can get into the groove better when I start with the intro and build from there.
I haven't been producing for a while so i'm just trying to get some thoughts from other producers who are more experienced.
So tell me what are the first initial steps when you start your track?
