I thought it should be also mentioned here that Sugar Bytes has just released a new FM synth called Aparillo (for $99). It's described as "textural synthesizer" on their website:

It's basically two interdependent FM synthesizers where the sound can be shaped through wave shaping/folding, formant shifting and LFOs. The most interesting part is the "Orbiter", a kind of X/Y controller for changing/morphing parameters. It's pure madness in my opinion.
Unfortunately, there's no introduction price so maybe there will be a sale soon. I won't wait since I just love Sugar Bytes. But there's a demo so you can play around before buying anything.
