Slumlord by Neon Indian has this awesome rhythmic key sound that I just can't seem to figure out. I know it starts off with a low-pass filter opening up then I'm guessing a resonant band-pass filter underneath the low-pass and I can figure out the amplitude envelope and effects used (I think I can hear some chorus but I can definitely hear that phaser).
I'm having trouble figuring out what waveforms were used, how the 16th note rhythm is created (with midi and an envelope controlling filter cutoff or with an LFO), what gives it that nasal/hollow tone (why I'm guessing there's a band-pass filter - I just can't seem to get it right), and how to make the pitch slide (is it a mod wheel, the synth's on-board portamento, manual pitch automation in the DAW, etc.) that happens right after the first four 16th notes of each phrase.
I know Alan Palomo uses several different analog synths in his music but I'm guessing this specific patch is not that simple to recreate as it seems Neon Indian dubs this synth in when Slumlord is played live.
