So for starters, im still new to the whole music education. but im basically trying to setup everything gear wise so i can just focus on learning the music. Eventually learning music without having to think about upgrading gear anymore, or for a very long time.
So as it stands right now i have krk rockit 5's and a focusrite solo, and a akai keyboard. I plan on dedicating my time towards learning sound synthesis and everything else towards making good electronic music(within the umbrella of edm). no idea what genre specifically yet, but i do feel like bass will be important eventually.
The main reason i want to figure out the whole gear situation now, is so i can just goto town on learning as much as i can without getting caught up in the gear, ego fueling distraction.
I dont really want to spend a ton on a sub. But currently i found an audioengine s8, for $250, which seems like an alright deal, and it appears to be sufficient for what i plan to need. But maybe its not? if its not what would you guys suggest i do, or look for in a sub, that will work with the krk rokit 5's?
Should i just get it? or should i hold off to find something else, price ranges and specific subs would be great to know. I don't really care if its new, so i will probably keep my eye on Craigslist or ebay.
any suggestions and advice u guys have is extremely appreciated.
