I've been producing for like a month and I recently got Serum. I've been learning how to use it by breaking apart presets, but I still am a bit murky on the exact meaning of these terms in relation to their position to chords, melody, and bass
Any insight you can offer would be greatly appreciated
Leads- Best used for melody, as they are meant to be the memorable part of the song. However, is it possible to use lead presets for chords?
Pads- Meant to provide ambiance? I've had some success using these with chords, but I'm not sure if they're meant to be used as a synth for chords, or if some just happen to work with them
Keys- Can be used for chords or melody
Bass- Bass
Plucks- Used mainly for melody, short sound waves (These are meant to emulate string sounds right?)
Thanks, and papa bless
